Widget option

To add Email download link Subscriptions Box widget to your sidebar, go to your Dashboard. and then click on Widgets menu. You will see a widget called Email download link. Click Add Widget button or drag it to the sidebar on the right.

Installation

Option 1:

Go to WordPress Dashboard->Plugins->Add New
Search Email download link plugin using search option
Find the plugin and click Install Now button
After installtion, click on Activate Plugin link to activate the plugin.

Option 2:

Download the plugin email-download-link.zip
Unpack the email-download-link.zip file and extract the email-download-link folder
Upload the plugin folder to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory
Go to WordPress dashboard, click on Plugins from the menu
Locate the Email download link plugin and click on Activate link to activate the plugin.

Option 3:

Download the plugin email-download-link.zip
Go to WordPress Dashboard->Plugins->Add New
Click on Upload Plugin link from top
Upload the downloaded email-download-link.zip file and click on Install Now
After installtion, click on Activate Plugin link to activate the plugin.

Firstable the plugin does what it should do, and it's easy to configure. So it could be a pretty nice plugin. Sadly the GDPR function doesn't work. You can click send without ticking the GDPR box. That makes it, at least from a legal point of view, useless. The error is visible even on the demo page for the plugin. I tried to contact the author, but sadly didn't get a reply.

Had to uninstall this because it would often send the wrong file to users. It also didn't export emails, I had to manually export emails from the database.

This plugin is just amazing. It does serve the purpose of asking for a email address and it sends emails to acknowledge both the Admin of the site and the viewer, + refreshes the download links on a cron job. Just perfect!

It works great! Just 4 stars because I would prefer to be able to modify the template and I would like to have different email texts for each download.
